Benedict is my favorite brother but this was just so average maybe even below par。

Formulaic is one thing; having the first 4 chapters be literally Cinderella is a bit much。Cute writing, a bit of a bodice ripper, and a light read to while away a journey, but nothing to linger in the memory。

I really like Sophie’s character。 I thought it very clever how this was a rendition of Cinderella, but the step mother actually had consequences for her condescending actions。 I felt terrible for Sophia Beckett (Bridgerton) most of the book though。

This was probably my favourite in the series so far。 It was fun and the characters were interesting and no one had some overwhelming irrational fear that broke up the relationship。

Fairytale retellings aren't my favorite, so that could be why this Cinderella variation didn't do too much for me。 It could also be that Benedict seems to be the least well defined of the Bridgerton brothers (even little Gregory seems to have a more fully formed personality) and even after a full book about him, he still seems indistinct。 Actually, the strongest traits he has in the book are somewhat off-putting and he certainly doesn't seem that interested in consent。 So yeah, he was not my fav Fairytale retellings aren't my favorite, so that could be why this Cinderella variation didn't do too much for me。 It could also be that Benedict seems to be the least well defined of the Bridgerton brothers (even little Gregory seems to have a more fully formed personality) and even after a full book about him, he still seems indistinct。 Actually, the strongest traits he has in the book are somewhat off-putting and he certainly doesn't seem that interested in consent。 So yeah, he was not my favorite。 Sophie was fine, but for the first time the banter in the books seemed a little forced。 It makes sense that the Bridgertons all have the same wit and that Simon and Kate have similar wits and worldviews due to their upbringings。 But Sophie being so quick witted and sharp seemed a little off for someone who had been so badly abused and lived in so much fear。 I would have liked a little variation on the way their courtship went。 I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it。 It was fine to read, but I also kept eyeing how many pages I had before reaching the end。 。。。more

This book is my favorite of the series so far。 So far my favourite main make character is Benedict since Simon and Anthony can sometimes be aggressive and annoying where's Benedict is just the right amount of cheeky and sarcastic。 Seeing Sophie cry was one of the most heartbreaking moments in the books but thankfully they didn't last。 And the mom is the most badass women I have ever read about, she is literally my favorite character of all time。 This book is my favorite of the series so far。 So far my favourite main make character is Benedict since Simon and Anthony can sometimes be aggressive and annoying where's Benedict is just the right amount of cheeky and sarcastic。 Seeing Sophie cry was one of the most heartbreaking moments in the books but thankfully they didn't last。 And the mom is the most badass women I have ever read about, she is literally my favorite character of all time。 。。。more

I loved the main character Sophia。 I loved the vaguely Cinderella plot。 I really didn’t know how they were going to end up together。 It was so nice to learn more about the secondary cast as well。

This one was opposite than the second book as in the beginning was kina blah…I’ve already heard the Cinderella story。 But then the second half picked up and I enjoyed the twist on the classic。 I liked the second epilogue whereas in the last two, I feel like I could have done without。 I can’t decide if I should keep going in the series or take a break。

A classic take on a Cinderella tale with a very aptly time karma delivery (without giving away spoilers) /touching side story。 Second epilogue answeredLots of questions I had after the story ended regarding supporting characters。 Great fluff novel to join the prior 2 Bridgeton books

Stop okay so I really didn't want to like these books as much as i do。 I listen to them on audible so that also might be a factor。 This one is better than the second for sure for a few reasons, but mainly the plot。 I really thought that I was going to be reading another cinderella retelling, which I did, but this one was much more fun since the entire retelling takes place in the first 3 chapters。 The plot of this was fun! Basic Cinderella, little Mermaid, then Cinderella again story。 Of course some things are different, but not original。 Sophie was alright, but Benedict was lame。 Last 2 hours were the best part, but I could have done without this book。

I couldn't put this book down。 My heart felt for the Sophie in this Bridgerton Cinderella tale。 I love Violet Bridgerton more & more in each book。 The evil Stepmom was true to character。 I adored Posy。 At times I was laughing & at times, I had tears。 I wanted so much for Sophie to get her happily ever after。 I couldn't put this book down。 My heart felt for the Sophie in this Bridgerton Cinderella tale。 I love Violet Bridgerton more & more in each book。 The evil Stepmom was true to character。 I adored Posy。 At times I was laughing & at times, I had tears。 I wanted so much for Sophie to get her happily ever after。 。。。more

I still prefer Anthony over all Bridgerton characters, but Benedict is definitely in second place! Saddens me a little to say so since in the book it’s referenced how he doesn’t want to be seen as #2, but I said what I said haha。 This was a regency era meets Cinderella sans bibbidy-bobbidi-boo (at least the kind offered by a fairy godmother)。 I love how the heroines and heroes in Julia Quinn’s books are able to show vulnerability while not compromising who they are。 As for this story specificall I still prefer Anthony over all Bridgerton characters, but Benedict is definitely in second place! It’s been a long time since I’ve devoured a book in one day, let alone 7 hours! Julia Quinn did it again; she certainly knows how to hook a reader from the first page! Benedict and Sophie’s love story is a true one。 I loved the surprise of the masquerade ball mystery gal! It was heartwarming to see how someone from low ranking could steal the heart of a Bridgerton。

Inigo? Perhaps it is best they stopped at eight。 I LOVED this book。 I did not like the beginning because it just felt way too much like Another Cinderella Story but as it went on I realized that Benedict is the loml and that I want to be as tenacious and hardworking as Sophie。There are A LOT of favorite quotes from this book: "It does make one wonder what the late viscount and (still very-much alive) dowager viscountess would have named their next child had their offspring numbered nine。 Imogen? Inigo? Perhaps it is best they stopped at eight。" (Chap。 2)"Sons of viscounts did not marry baseborn nobodies。 Not even in romantic novels。" (Chap。 5)"True the hand appeared to be connected quite firmly to her arm, but it didn't look the least bit familiar as it drew back and hurled the stump across the room。 Straight at Benedict Bridgerton's head。" (Chap。 9)"Or he'd goad and needle her, simply to get a rise out of her, because he liked her far better when she was spitting fire than when she was meek and submissive。" (Chap。 10)"'The things one remembers,' she said, looking exceedingly amused, 'are most often things one had forgotten。'" (Chap。 10)"'Sophie,' he said, 'I can practically see the steam coming out of your ears。 Stop taxing your brain with useless mathematical computations and do as I asked。'" (Chap。 11)"Benedict didn't often go out of his way to annoy people (with the notable exception of his siblings), but Sophie Beckett clearly brought out the devil in him。" (Chap。 12)"'I can live with you hating me,' he said to the closed door, 'I just can't live without you。'" (Chap。 12)"If you like your life dull, then that can only mean that you do not understand the nature of excitement。" (Chap。 15)"'You have been working on that same piece of embroidery for quite some time, Hyacinth。 Since February, if my memory serves。' 'Her memory always serves,' Francesca said to Sophie。" (Chap。 16)"'You don't have a thimble?' Hyacinth asked。 'I would never dream of doing mending without a thimble。' 'Have you ever dreamed of mending?' Francesca smirked。Hyacinth kicked her, nearly upsetting the tea service in the process。" (Chap。 16)"He loved her。 He didn't know how it had happened, only that it was true。" (Chap。 16)"It was strange, to find a woman who could make him happy just with her mere presence。 He didn;t even have to see her, or hear her voice, or even smell her scent。 He just had to know that she was there。" (Chap。 16)"He was smiling at her, that crooked grin that never failed to reduce her to mush。" (Chap。 17)"Anthony turned to Benedict and said, 'They'll be married within a year。 Mark my words。' Colin crossed his arms。 'Antony!''Maybe two," Benedict said。 'He's young yet。'" (Chap。 18) (Side note, the part right after this where Penelope walked in really broke my heart) "'I always wish your father were here。' She closed her eyes for a brief moment。 'Always。'" (Chap。 19) (Also heartbreaking)"'It's not as if she has a school to flunk out of,' Benedict muttered。 'Benedict that is a terrible thing to say!' Eloise exclaimed。 'I know,' he groaned, hoping to stave off a lecture。'Just because we of the female gender are not allowed to study at placed like Eton and Cambridge doesn't mean our educations are any less precious,' Eloise ranted, completely ignoring her brother's weak 'I know。''Furthermore-' she carried on。Benedict sagged against the wall。 '-I am of the opinion that the reason we are not allowed access is that if we were, we would trounce you men in all subjects!''I am sure you're right,' he sighed。'Don't patronize me。''Believe me, Eloise, the last thing I would dream of doing is patronizing you。" (Chap。 19) (FAVORITE MOMENT)"But as he trudged on up, he didn't see Eloise turn toward his mother, who was peeking out of the music room, and give her a big wink and a smile。" (Chap。 19)"'Thank you。 It's a privilege to be your son。' His mother, who had held her own throughout the day, and indeed proven herself the most hardheaded and quick-witted of them all, burst into tears。" (Chap。 23) (Honestly Viscountess Bridgerton has gone through a lot and I am sure she has more to deal with with her remaining 5 children) 。。。more
